After 8+ years as a Social Media Manager, I can admit... community management isn't my favourite part of the job. But it’s definitely one of the most important, and this is why:
1. When people see a tourism operator or event actually showing up in the comments and replying to their messages, it shows them that there are real humans behind the brand, paying attention to their customers and their needs.
2. A quick reply like “thanks for coming!” or even just a like can make people feel part of something, and that’s what turns followers in to customers.
3. Comments and DMs are where people tell you what they like, what’s confusing, and what they’re actually looking for. You’ll learn a lot if you pay attention.
